Los Alquimistas: To make the story short Los Alquimistas (The Alchemists) came from the word “Alquimia” which it was use many years before the chemistry was invented, the alchemist were very knowledgeable people and the rumors are that they can transform a lump of lead in gold. That’s why we decided to obtain this name for the band, same as them we can transform any melody, lyrics, sound and music into what we consider a perfect musical arrangement or just simple as our GOLD song.
24: What motivated you to join this industry?
Los Alquimistas: We been making music for many years, this is what love to do, this is what we want to do and we enjoy doing it, we are hungry and there is no way to stop us, we want people to listen to our music and feel the difference and feel inspire by us, we want to be heard in every part of the world, we believe we have the talent, the power, the knowledge, we thank God for everything he gave us!
24: Talk to us a lil bit more about the band.
Los Alquimistas: Los
Alquimistas is a new generation Latin urban band which is created from
unique sounds and genders like; Electro music from the 80’s, Pop,
R&B, Drum & Bass, Urban, Reggae Roots, Etc.we called this fusion the “ELECTRO URBAN POP SOUND” the band is composed by Dj Hemo, Dantes & Jun-i Hemo; Producer, recording engineer, drummer and multi-instrumentalist sponsored by Hutchins guitars and basses, a native of Maya-West Puerto Rico, Alex began his musical career as a drummer, most notably with the touring reggae group LOS GOYOS, and later
moved to recording and production. Currently he established his own
operation after only 2 years in Miami producing, mixing and recording
both up-and-coming and prestigious Latin artists as Chayanne, Paulina Rubio, Jim Jonsin, David Cabrera, etc. His latest gig was recording, producing and arranging for the Estefano Productions Group in Miami, FL 24: What other projects are you currently working on right now?
Los Alquimistas: We are focus right now on our first album “Los Alquimistas” will be Release on 09-09-09, we’re working hard to bring the best music experience possible for our fans, we know el Latino(a) likes the good music that’s why we’re putting so much effort in this project.
24: How do you see the progress in this industry? What needs to be made to be improved? What changes need to happen? Modifications?
Los Alquimistas: The Latin urban industry needs a change, a variety of sounds and artists, they need to make real music by real artist, needs to open the door of opportunities to the new talent that has so much to offer, let’s be real today everything sound the same, we believe this is happening because today’s artist are not original or maybe they don’t have the balls to be different and make the difference, and of course the fans notice that, that’s why “Los Alquimistas” are here, the new face of the Latin urban music is coming.
24: What are we going to see from the group in the future?
Los Alquimistas: We are taking over as we said before, we see us as the new face of the Latin urban music, our sound, lyrics and music are original, the “ELECTRO URBAN POP SOUND” is unique from “Los Alquimistas” everything we want from this is to make a change of this industry and quality is our last name.
