15 Artistas Confirman El Viaje a Cuba

There's about 15 artists, including Juanes, who have confirmed their participation for the second annual "Paz sin fronteras" concert in Havana, Cuba.

The show will take place at the Jose Marti Revolution Plaza. Cuabn exiles who now reside in Miami have criticized the event, it has even gone as far as death threats against Juanes if he included Cuban artists on the venue; artists like Amaury Pérez, Cucu Diamantes, Silvio Rodríguez, los Van Van, Carlos Varela, the Orishas group and X Alfonso. Other artists include, from Spain, Miguel Bosé, Luis Eduardo Aute and Víctor Manuel, Puerto Ricans Danny Rivera and Olga Tañón, Ecuadorian Juan Fernando Velasco and the Italian Jovanotti.

"We hope this concert will serve as a bridge for better understanding amongst all Cubans, especially the youth", said Juanes.

The event will be from 2 to 6pm, an d will be transmitted live throught satellite on Cuban television, as well as through any radio station, TV channel, website, that has agreed to broadcast the event.

The event organizers are asking the artists and the crowd attending to dress in all white, symbolizing peace. They also guarantee that there will not be any political messages whatsoever.

Una quincena de artistas, incluido Juanes, han confirmado su participación en el segundo concierto "Paz sin fronteras" previsto para el 20 de septiembre en La Habana, anunciaron el jueves el rockero colombiano y el Instituto Cubano de la Música.

El espectáculo en la Plaza de la Revolución José Martí, que algunos exiliados cubanos en Miami han criticado y por el cual Juanes incluso llegó a ser amenazado de muerte, contará con la participación de los cubanos Amaury Pérez, Cucu Diamantes, Silvio Rodríguez, los Van Van, Carlos Varela, el grupo Orishas y X Alfonso.

También acudirán los españoles Miguel Bosé, Luis Eduardo Aute y Víctor Manuel, los puertorriqueños Danny Rivera y Olga Tañón, el ecuatoriano Juan Fernando Velasco y el italiano Jovanotti.

"Esperamos que este concierto de 'Paz sin Fronteras' sirva para extender un puente de mejor entendimiento en las relaciones entre todos los cubanos, en especial entre los jóvenes", expresó Juanes en un comunicado.

El evento, previsto de 2 a 6 de la tarde hora local, será transmitido en vivo y vía satélite por la Televisión Cubana y la señal podrá utilizarse libremente en cualquier país y por cualquier canal de televisión, sitio de Internet o estación radio que lo haya solicitado y sin ninguna restricción, dice la misiva.

Los organizadores piden que tanto los artistas como el público asistente vistan de blanco en símbolo de paz, y afirman que el evento no tendrá mensajes políticos de ninguna índole.
